Outdoor Rabbit Hutches for Sale

The first thing to think about when looking at rabbit hutches for sale is where you want to keep your rabbit. If at all possible, it’s best to keep your bunny outside so that he can enjoy the fresh air. Outdoor rabbit hutches are generally a better idea than indoor rabbit hutches. Still, if you do decide to buy outdoor rabbit hutches, you will probably need at least a small additional indoor enclosure to keep him in for when the weather gets too bad.

If your looking at outdoor rabbit hutches for sale, make sure that it is equipped with a good roof to ensure that the hutch will stay dry when it rains or snows. Also, make sure that the hutch is elevated off the ground to help protect your bunny from preying claws and teeth.Your outdoor rabbit hutch should be wired to a separate stable structure, if possible, to keep your rabbits home from being tipped over.

The size of your rabbits hutch should be directly proportionate to the adult size into which your bunny will grow. As with any product, quality is an important consideration. Although there are many different styles of outdoor rabbit hutches, if it is not made well, it really doesn’t matter what style it is. It will just fall apart over time.

A good rabbit hutch will provide your bunny with everything he/she needs: protective roofing, a separate sleeping and eating area, a run for exercise, and most importantly, a cozy place to call home.

Things to Consider Before Purchasing a Rabbit Hutch

Owning a rabbit can be quite a joy, and just like any other pet you want to ensure that your rabbit is going to feel safe and comfortable in it’s home. Unfortunately, hutches sold in most pet stores are not practical for a rabbits daily needs, that is why I’m here to help you find the right hutch for your pet rabbit. Here are some things that you should consider before purchasing a rabbit hutch:

Size

No matter how big or small your bunny is, they all have one thing in common, they need lots of space. At a minimum, a hutch should be large enough for your rabbit to stand up on it’s hind legs and hop at least three times. Remember, this is a MINIMUM. I highly recommend purchasing a hutch that is much larger than this so your bunny feels comfortable and has plenty of room. You don’t want to be crammed up in a room 24/7 where you can only take a few steps each way, do you? Well neither does your pet rabbit.

Ideally, your rabbit should have room to actually run around. There are many rabbit hutches for sale that include runs; this is an area in the hutch that is open for your rabbit to get some exercise. If your rabbit hutch is indoors I still recommend purchasing a run that you can put outside. Rabbits require sunlight on a regular basis for them to receive Vitamin D. Also, they need exercise to avoid stress and weight gain.

Consider the age of your rabbit. How much is it going to grow? Will it outgrow the hutch you are purchasing? I’d suggest that you buy a hutch that is large enough so that you don’t have to upgrade later on. You want your rabbit to adapt to it’s current home. This is where it will feel safe and content. Changing it’s home could cause stress to your pet.

Living Quarters

If you are looking to provide your rabbit with perfect conditions, and the comfort it needs, I recommend buying a hutch that has three separate areas: an eating, sleeping, and exercise area (a run). The eating area should include a water bottle, and a food bowl. The sleeping area should consist of comfortable bedding for your pet, and the exercise area should provide plenty of room for your rabbit to run and play with his/her toys.

Now you’ve got an idea of what to look for when searching for rabbit hutches for sale. Check out some of the hutches I have listed below:
